2007 Event & Gala

BeLIVE 2007 is an unprecedented event in which six high-impact Colombian non-profit organizations will unify efforts in order to raise awareness about Colombia’s social needs, contributing to the development and prosperity of vulnerable communities in Colombia.

This year’s gala seeks to raise funds for projects that will benefit thousands of children, internally displaced persons, female head-of-households, and rural low-income communities in the areas of health, education, nutrition and social development.

The event will be held at Karu &Y Restaurant at Miami’s Art District known for its innovative architecture and dining experience. In this special evening, our prestigious guests will enjoy a silent auction with collaboration of Key for Colombia and a spectacular dinner followed by music performances and a Fashion Show by Silvia Tcherassi in Karu’s spectacular outdoor gardens.

This event seeks to raise awareness about Colombia’s social needs, as well as recognize and benefit non-profit organizations that contribute to the prosperity and development of vulnerable communities in Colombia via their high impact efforts in the country.

As you might know, Colombia is going through an unprecedented period, in which, after 40 years of violent conflict, social investment is becoming a main priority. Both international and local organizations, multinationals and the Colombian Diaspora are increasingly concerned about reducing poverty, sinking illiteracy, and providing education, nutrition and technological access to the entire Colombian population.

As part of this process, six well known Colombian non-profit organizations: Give to Colombia, Fórmula Sonrisas, Colombianitos, Fundación Mi Sangre, United for Colombia and Genesis Foundation, got together for the first time in history, to host and unprecedented event for the Colombian and international community to engage in supporting high social impact projects.

On that night, approximately 500 high-profile guests will join a philanthropic partnership with the Colombian community in order to support on-going non-profit projects and initiate new incentives for people in need.

The event was selected as one of the official NASCAR events for the NASCAR Homestead Race that will be held on November 18, 2007. We are expecting 48 NASCAR drivers and their team owners as special guests.
